Les Lundis d’Hortense imagined a treasure hunt that allows the discovery of jazz instruments and musicians: a recognition of the sounds of the instruments and an encounter with the artists, who present their instruments and explain their particularities.

How do you pose your voice? How do you blow a trumpet, trombone or saxophone? How do you pluck the strings of a guitar or a double bass? How do you strike the drum heads or the keys of a piano? What sounds do the instruments make? What are the particularities of jazz?

The answers to these questions and many others will be unveiled during a treasure hunt at the inauguration of the Ecuries de La Ferme! in Louvain-la-Neuve. The children and their companions are divided into small groups and go in search of the instruments.

After having been able to listen to the instruments separately, the musicians will meet for a one hour concert. The opportunity to present the combinations of sounds, the interaction, the improvisation and the rhythm which give jazz its specificity.

For children aged 6 to 12 accompanied by at least one adult.
