Graduated in classical music (Budapest) and then in jazz (Paris, Antwerp, Brussels), the singer-pianist Tamara Mozes gives regularly concerts and participates in international festivals with her solo program. She was a French Government scholarship holder in 2011 and received the Hungarian Government’s annual jazz scholarship in 2015. In 2020 she won the national songwriting competition (Orszaczky Prize, Hungary) with her composition Newborn Sycamore.
Tamara Mozes’ music is inspired by different styles: jazz, composed music, chanson and even pop. This time she presents her new album, Cross Folk (vocals, piano, looper), a cycle based on traditional melodies from seven nations, all sung in the original language, with a lot of improvisation. Her solo program offers an emotional and intellectual experience at the same time.
