Bastien, Arnaud, Maxime: BAM! They come from Mons, the Andenne region, and Spa. They got to know each other around the instrument that is THE sound of the deep South in the United States, and its fiery religious songs: the Hammond B3 organ.
Synonym of groove and swing, this specifically-sounded instrument lets music out as if in underwater waves, like an undulatory hymn. The B3 player among BAM!, Maxime Moyaerts was brought up well in terms of groove, by none other than Huy-native Éric Legnini! The trio’s originality shines through also in its compositions, fluidly blending organ with guitar and drums. BAM! is a solid project, shaped by time – they near their tenth anniversary! Most certainly, their three-year residency at the Sounds Jazz Club in Brussels, at the rate of one concert at month, cemented the band, as well as the fidelity of their audience.
It also opened horizons as, in their latest album “Keep It Simple”, and now on tour, BAM! enrolled experimented saxophonist Bart Defoort, to pepper their music in Old South style.
