An athletic criss-cross between jazz and non european musical traditions centered on wood based piano preparation, Anaphora explores the power within the collective process of dreaming out sounds and sounding out dreams. With [Bloom], the trio brews a genre and gender free musical hybrid. One where colourful percussive spaces interweave with meditative gongs and hypnotic melodies.
Influenced by Balinese Gamelan, the music is an ironic ritual of motion where cyclical patterns, danceable grooves, techno-like beats and textural playfulness come together in a fascinating and seamless interplay. On stage it plays out energetically, crossing paths with sonorities from Esbjörn Svensonn Trio to Elliot Galvin trio and Benoit Delbecq’s 3.
