“I don’t understand jazz at all!” “Do you improvise from start to finish?” “Is improvising just playing randomly?”
To mark International Jazz Day, Les Lundis d’Hortense is teaming up with the Musical Instrument Museum to offer an event that is accessible to all, allowing participants to discover jazz through some of its most iconic instruments.
On April 30, take a look behind the scenes of a piece of music: how it begins, how it is organized, where the theme and solos come in… By asking the musicians questions and thanks to concrete examples, follow the development of a jazz piece step by step, understand its structure, and learn to listen to it in a different way.
