Named Terpsichore after the muse of dance, this quartet led by pianist Geoffrey Fiorese blends music and dance in a melancholy and captivating universe. Inspired by the intimate relationship between sound and movement, this project invites the audience through a spiritual and sensorial experience, almost trance-like. Initially centered around Keith Jarrett’s American Quartet music, the band has broadened its repertoire with Geoffrey Fiorese’s original compositions, thus driving the quartet’s music towards a very personal sound, yet in keep with the project’s original spirit. Somewhere in between meditative poetry and improvisations close to free jazz, this project accompanies the audience into unknown landscapes where listening makes one forget oneself.
