With this year’s 36th edition, Jazz au Vert is a must in the jazz world! Conceived for all who wish to deepen their musical skills and competences, this residential workshop is unique: completely immersed in the universe of jazz, participants get to be musically stimulated, and walk away with tools and lifelong creative nourishment.

Lessons, Masterclasses and Activities

Instrument lessons (piano, guitar, saxophones, flutes, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, voice, electric bass, double bass, drums)
Ensemble classes
Workshops (voice, rhythm, african music, listening and history of jazz, big band)
Harmony classes (beginner’s, intermediary and advanced level)
Master classes (tbd)
Jam sessions (every evening)
Concerts by students and professors (open to everybody)
Possibility of violin, harmonica, accordion, vibraphone… classes in related instrument lessons.

Participants levels and age

Jazz au Vert is open to musicians age 16 and above, amateurs and professionals. It is intended for all those wishing to learn more and improve, and is conceived for musicians with a specific jazz approach as well as those curious to learn about a new harmonic universe. It is, however, not advised for people starting to learn a new instrument.

La Marlagne, Centre Culturel Marcel Hicter, Belgium
Located in a 15-hectare property on the Wépion hills (Namur), “La Marlagne” is a venue aimed at promoting all initiatives supporting culture in its many forms (artistic, community- and education-related…). Its polyvalent infrastructure, with housing facilities and parking lot, make it the perfect place to host Jazz au Vert.

Participants can remain until Sunday, provided they promptly check out at 9am.
