To journey through the world of jazz double bass, you need ‘quarts’: a road map, a pack of cards, a blank canvas… In the case of the opportunity afforded to Jean-Louis Rassinfosse, the double bassist celebrates his long-standing involvement with the trio L’Âme des Poètes. For over thirty-three years, this unique ensemble has been exploring the treasures of French chanson, reinventing them through the language of jazz. For this new project, the trio is joined by two special guests for a spellbinding reinterpretation of the repertoire of one of the most famous figures in the French-speaking musical heritage: Édith Piaf. Inspired by Piaf’s musical and poetic world, this new project, which ‘waltzes’ until you lose your head, will give rise to a ninth album: Les Trois Cloches, named after the iconic song by La Môme Piaf.
