Led by Antoine Lissoir on alto saxophone and clarinet, ‘life’s a joke’ came into being during the difficult period of the 2021 lockdown.
With plenty of time to write his own compositions, he decided to bring together musicians from diverse backgrounds to share their compositions and musical writing.
With great freedom of interpretation and a deeply cohesive ensemble sound, the group strives to play music that is as human and vibrant as possible, offering a fresh and unexpected repertoire that explores various types and styles of improvised music.
From swing to choro, via progressive and atmospheric music, they offer a rich palette and a masterful blend of styles, resulting in an exclusive, acoustic and highly original repertoire.
They released their first album in 2024 and are very proud of it!
